Intercompany

2005 Holiday Luncheon

On December 6th & 7th, 2005 both Tursack Printing & Digital Direct held their annual holiday luncheons. Each year the managers in both buildings take turns over the 3 shifts serving the well-deserved catered meal to all employees. In the spirit of giving this year area businesses donated items for an employee raffle, which brought smiles to many faces. Take a peek at a few of our festive pictures below!

Open House for Tursack Apprenticeship Program

On May 5th our company held an Open House for local High School/Vo-Tech Seniors and Juniors who are interested in a printing career. The pre-press, pressroom, and bindery were targeted areas to recruit more young employees to our company.

We have created a new Program for those students that is called the Tursack Apprenticeship Program. Individuals will be evaluated on performance and knowledge learned in our industry and skills developed throughout the time while they are in the program. The Apprenticeship Program stimulates knowledge in printing and motivates recent graduates or juniors (co-op) to start their career in printing within our company as an apprentice and move their own way up, demonstrating hard work, efficiency in production, responsibility, prioritizing time, and a good work ethic.

During our Open House, we had participants from Muhlenberg Vo-Tech and various High Schools in Berks County: Twin Valley High School, Wilson High School, and Boyertown High School students. Students who attended, some with parents, commented that they had never experienced such an informative and well-educational Open House as they had here, at Tursack.

The Open House visitors toured the pre-press department, the pressroom, and the bindery of our facility, where they observed:
* How jobs are run on a press
* How brisque operators rip, trap files, and output digital and iris proofs for jobs
* How jobs are prepped and corrected by Mac Operators using graphic design skills
* How the bindery equipment works in our facility
We’d like to thank the employees involved in the above mentioned demonstrations and all those who contributed in the success of this event!

This event entered in the history of Tursack, Inc., as a very significant day, because we hope it ignites a new beginning in our company with the influx of young employees to learn from some of the best professionals in the trade. We are proud to advertise our Apprenticeship Program to young High School juniors and seniors, who are interested in joining our team at Tursack, Inc. If you are interested in the program, please contact our Human Resources Manager, Connie Troxell (ctroxell@tursack.com, 800-222-2259 x 3067).

Summer Brings Chicken Barbeque

Ever dream of having your boss wait on you hand and foot?  Tursack almost makes that fantasy come true each year, as both Tursack and Digital Direct management put their food service skills to the test taking turns over 3 shifts to serve every employee.  Catered by S&S Grilling, the Chicken BBQ event kicks off the summer with a delicious picnic assortment of grilled chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, cake, and beverages.  Tursack likes to take this opportunity to thank all of its employees for their hard work and dedication.  See some pictures below of our picnickers - who invited the guy with the big hat??
